This may sound like a trivial task but in reality, it has been easier said than done. Solutions, generally, have been technically complicated and requiring major adaptations to not only the home network but also special functionality and/or adaptations in the network the user is roaming at. If you have a mobile pre-paid solution in place today, upgrades and enhancements may be even more complicated and costly. The IN Switch USSD Call-back Gateway offers a straightforward solution to this problem. Product description The IN Switch USSD Callback is an innovative roaming solution that allows mobile subscribers to enjoy callback service by sending USSD string when they are abroad. The solution grants the home network full control over the call and can perform all the pre-call checks and also rate the call in real time. The operation of the service starts with a mobile subscriber who has roamed to an overseas country. The subscriber simply dials the number prefixes it with a short code, for example: #121*35774051244#, where 35774051244 is the number to be called and 121 is the "USSD service". The visited network routes the USSD string to the USSD platform in the home network thru the HLR. The service checks the subscriber balance and establishes the call connection. The credit balance, maximum duration of the call and warning messages (i.e. called busy) can be sent to the subscriber thru USSD message. When the call is finished the balance of the prepaid account is updated. |
