IN Switch's SMSC ensures interworking with other SMSC and applications using SMPP. It provides an e-mail gateway that enables the interworking between an SMSC and an email system allowing forwarding emails to mobile devices.

To ensure integrity and delivery, mirrored disks are used for data redundancy. Data is copied in real-time to a standby system, so in case of failure, the standby can take over without losing any messages. Stores undelivered messages for later delivery. Advanced retry schedules are used.

IN Switch's SMS-C supports mobile originated (MO) and mobile terminated (MT) messaging in GSM network.
