POS TopUp

Payment Solutions - eVoucher

Remaining competitive in the telecommunications world means ensuring continuous examination of operational costs. The costs associated with supporting prepaid vouchers are expensive. Sooner or later operators begin to study how they can strip out costs, making the prepaid model more profitable and at the same time give their subscribers a more convenient method of topping up.

For prepaid service providers, IN Switch POS TopUp reduces the costs associated with a voucher-based service, while promoting a valuable and convenient service to subscribers.
The net effect boosts ARPU and increases profitability.
IN Switch POS TopUp is a software system that allows distributors sell prepaid airtime through a much wider base of mobile agents than is currently possible using vouchers.

Product Description

The POS TopUp service is introduced with an open architecture, consisting of POS TERMINALS and a DATABASE SERVER. The terminals connect to the DataBase Server using a dial up connection or through a VPN by means of TCP/IP for reconciliation process. This process downloads new POS TopUps for sale on this specific Terminal already assigned on the DataBase Server for that purpose. When the merchant assigns POS TopUps for a given terminal through the Web Administration, funds will be deducted from his account. This operation can only be done if the merchant has enough funds on his parent account. He may also check the status of every terminal and place POS TopUp orders for them.
When an POS TopUp is sold by the Terminal, it is marked as used at its own local database. If the Terminal runs out of POS TopUps, the terminal may initiate a reconciliation process on demand to obtain new POS TopUps, if an POS TopUp order has already been assigned on the DataBase Server for that purpose.
When an POS TopUp order is placed on the DataBase Server for a given terminal, the quantity and amounts of POS TopUps will be specified through the Web Administration. The vouchers will be obtained from a preloaded stock of POS TopUps given by the Prepaid Operator.
For every transaction performed on the system, either on the DataBase Server or in the Terminals, a CDR / Ticket will be issued stating all the regarding information.

An optional Prepaid Interface may be installed as an expansion to the original system. This module will have an open TCP/IP interface for accessing the external Prepaid Database. In this way, provisioning of POS TopUps through the POS Terminal is done by accessing the prepaid database, instead of the predefined POS TopUps for that matter.

Product Overview

The POS TopUp, component-based architecture provides maximum security and scalability for mission critical payments solutions. The IN Switch Payments Platform consists both of the Payments Server, which manages the end-user and application interaction with the payments database, and a Payments Administration component allowing complete payments platform management by call centre staff, supervisors and administrators.

The POS TopUps are provisioned to the subscriber and printed out by the POS Terminals. The print out shows voucher value, expiration date, validity days, pin code and serial number.

Then, the POS TopUps are sold at the POS terminals or "virtual vendors". These virtual vendors neither, have physical outlets nor the overheads that traditional merchants do and will ensure more efficient airtime distribution. In addition, these vendors do not have to deal with physical vouchers which remove the possibilities of theft and eliminate the headaches associated with the physical distribution of prepaid top-up cards.
